John R. Hilley, Founder and President
John has been involved with nonprofit leadership and consultative services to nonprofits for over twenty years, specializing in start-up and turnaround settings. His expertise is in applying market-based solutions to non-profits to increase their efficiency, sustainability and resiliency. Linking this experience with the extensive need of nonprofits to become better at navigating in today's challenging and complex environment, John is the creator of the Organizational Resiliency GamePlan Assessment Software (ORG Assessment Tool), a business intelligence app for nonprofits. Not only working with nonprofits, he has provided business continuity management/disaster recovery planning for financial services companies and banks. Some of his past work has included developing business continuity response, relief & recovery efforts across 10 Louisiana parishes post Hurricanes Katrina & Rita and providing analytical and coaching skills in capacity building and the development of strategic alliances with organizations such as the American Red Cross. He holds degrees from Wake Forest University and Princeton Theological Seminary as well as undertaken post-graduate fellowship studies at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Doug Hausken, Director of Strategy
Doug Hausken has more than ten years of experience working with and leading nonprofits. In his role as Director of Strategy, he is responsible for executing on the firm’s commitment to strengthening the nonprofit sector through their MyGamePlan.org e-assessment tools and services aimed at increasing the organizational capacity needs of nonprofits. In addition, he provides consultative services, conducting organizational assessments and market research, strategic planning, and implementing prioritized findings towards increased resiliency and sustainability.
Prior to joining Patmos, he was an Executive Director of a regional environmental nonprofit where he excelled in developing policies and procedures to make the organization more effective, efficient, and transparent. He draws upon extensive experience in public and community relations, social media, board development and fundraising in his current work with clients. At United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, he managed and provided technical assistance to a network of fourteen Family Resource Centers and nine neighborhood programs that provided community and economic development services throughout the city. Hausken is passionate about helping communities and nonprofits become more resilient, especially in light of today’s challenging economic climate. Hausken holds a Masters of Public Administration from the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University with a specialization in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy Analysis.
David Maddox, Consultant
David is a Principal and co-founder of RPM Associates based in Nashville. David brings more than 20 years of higher education experience to the practice. He is the author of the book Budgeting for Not-for-Profit Organizations published by John Wiley, and regularly serves as a speaker and teacher on planning, budgeting, and financial management. Formerly a member of KPMG's Higher Education Consulting practice, he consults with higher education and nonprofits on financial management planning and practicing. David holds an M.B.A. from the Owen School at Vanderbilt University.
