It’s Always Too Late to Not Have a Business Continuity Plan
08.19.2009
What happens when the business that you've been counting on for retirement is lost to a natural disaster? Or what happens when all of your data is lost or stolen and your customers leave in droves, worried about the security of their private information?
Accidents happen. Disasters strike. And while no shareholder, customer or client will hold you personally responsible for unplanned events, they will call you to account for not having a plan.
Does your company have a Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Plan?
If you answered no to the above question, I'm sure it's because one of two reasons:
- You have no idea what a BC/DR Plan is and what it entails.
- You think a good BC/DR plan costs too much.
For too long, businesses have been left with two choices: spend a fortune on a BC/DR Plan or simply throw caution to the wind and hope for the best. Now, there is a third option.
That's why I'll be leading a workshop in just a few weeks about BC/DR planning and how your company can develop one, insuring that when the unexpected happens, you can respond in a very expected way.
For more details on the workshop, click here.
Over the next few days, I'll be blogging more about Patmos' 4-Phase approach to BC/DR planning.
These four phases include:
- Prevention
- Continuation
- Recovery
- Improvement
Stay tuned for more on these topics, and why your company needs to have a solid BC/DR Plan in place. In the meantime, you can register for the workshop here.
